TIME has named APPLE’s iPhone “invention of the year”, citing is design, innovative touchscreen, and potential for changing the tech industry’s approach to mobile computing.
While bestowing the honor on the popular cellular phone/handheld computer, Time acknowledged the iPhone’s flaws: the device’s on-screen keyboard is too hard to type on, the gadget is too big for a mobile phone, there no instant messaging, it doesn’t work on most people’s work e-mail, and it’s locked to service provider AT&T (NYSE: T).
But for me myself, TIME has made a major mistakes by choosing iPhone as “invention of the year”. How can you say that it was an invention when it’s simply just a phone with very lack of features … (no 3G, not even MMS, locked to a service provider, pathetic 2MP camera with no flash support, poor file management, no GPS support) …Perhaps it’s more appropriate if iPhone is considered as “Innovation of The Year” … eventhough it’s a not (so) cool innovation for me …
